IAPCON 2026 Update: Final Call for Conference and Pre-Conference Registration
Good news for those who couldn’t register yet for IAPCON 2026; the last date of registration for the Conference and Pre-Conference Workshops has been extended!
Conference registrations will close on Saturday, 31st January, 2026. Registrations for the Pre-Conference Workshops will close on Thursday, 15th January, 2026. The organisers of IAPCON 2026 warmly remind you not to miss this last opportunity. Visit the conference website for further details and registration.
The 33rd Annual International Conference of the Indian Association of Palliative Care will be held at the National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (NI-MSME), Yousufguda, Hyderabad, between Friday, 13th and Sunday, 15th February, 2026. The Pre-Conference Workshops will be held on Thursday, 12th February, 2026 at different venues across Hyderabad city.

Interview with Dr Subrahmanyam Maddirala, Organizing Chairperson, IAPCON 2026

Final Call for IAHPC Grant for IAPCON 2026
This is the final call for applications for the IAHPC Grant to support participation in IAPCON 2026, offered through a collaborative initiative between the Indian Association of Palliative Care and the International Association of Hospice and Palliative Care. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening palliative care education, leadership, and equity by enabling broader participation of professionals from diverse backgrounds, particularly those working in resource limited and underserved settings. The grant aims to reduce financial barriers to conference participation and provide opportunities for learning, professional development, and meaningful national and international engagement within the palliative care community. Eligible members are encouraged to apply within the stipulated timeline to benefit from this collaborative support initiative.

Final Call for Proposal: IAPCON 2028
The Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC) is inviting proposals to conduct the 35th Annual International Conference of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPCON 2028).
Those interested in organising the conference are requested to submit their expression of interest by emailing the proposal in the requested and prescribed format to the Secretary, IAPC, at iapcagbm@gmail.com before 5 p.m. on Saturday, 17th January, 2026.

Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) of the IAPC
The Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC) invites all its members to attend the Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM), scheduled to be held on 14th February, 2026 at 4:00 PM during IAPCON 2026 in the Main Hall (Hall A), National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NI-MSME), Hyderabad. Members are encouraged to participate and contribute to discussions on key organisational updates, activities, and plans for the coming year. Your presence and active involvement are vital to strengthening our collective efforts in advancing palliative care across the country. We look forward to your participation.
‘Singing for the Stars’: Update from December 2025 Event
The Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC), in collaboration with the Shankar Mahadevan Academy – Nirvana, hosted December edition of Singing for the Stars” – a deeply moving virtual musical event on Wednesday, 17th December, 2025. Designed as a gentle offering for individuals receiving palliative care and their caregivers, the programme celebrated music as a source of comfort, connection, and emotional healing.
The evening featured a soulful performance by Ms. Himangi Vishwaroop, vocalist, music composer, and performing artist. Her evocative renditions created a serene and uplifting atmosphere, offering participants moments of reflection, solace, and joy. The concert beautifully acknowledged and honoured everyone who joined.
Dr Geeta Joshi (President, IAPC) expressed her deep gratitude to SMA Nirvana for their continued support in delivering this programme. She also congratulated Ms Himangi Vishwaroop for generously dedicating her time and talent to a cause that brought smiles to many faces.
Doctors, nurses, volunteers, and other healthcare professionals also joined the programme. It was heart-warming to see several institutions live-streaming the event in their wards and outpatient departments.

- After entering the relevant details, please click the ‘Submit’ button to record your responses.
Please do remember that your two minutes will make an invaluable difference in someone’s entire lifetime, as patients and caregivers, along with your colleagues will then have access to palliative care services when they need it the most!

‘Saath Saath Helpline’: India’s free palliative care helpline
Saath-Saath Helpline: 1800-202-7777, is the first of its kind National, Free-of-cost Palliative care helpline. The helpline offers non-judgmental listening services to palliative patients and their caregivers, or to a patient’s physician, and connects them to the nearest palliative care center.
The helpline has 26 partner organisations working across 17 States and Union territories viz; Maharashtra, Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Orissa, Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kashmir and West Bengal. Volunteers from Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) and Cipla Palliative Care and Training Centre (CPC) attend the calls in four shifts to either provide information, offer Psycho-emotional support or to refer the caller to a partner organisation.
The helpline provides service through call-in on a phone line and works 6 days a week (Mon-Sat), 10 am to 6 pm.
You can offer your support by informing patients about this helpline and refer those who are in need of such services.
