Submit abstracts before 6th February, 2024, for the 2024 ASCO Annual Meeting, 31st May to 4th June, 2024, Chicago, USA
Last few days remaining to submit abstracts for the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Annual Meeting scheduled to be held between Friday, 31st May, 2024, and Tuesday, 4th June, 2024, at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, USA.
The ASCO annual meeting is said to be one of the most significant gatherings of oncology professionals from across the globe, and aims to provide delegates with an opportunity to network with colleagues from across the globe and forge collaborations which would alter the landscape of cancer care globally.
Conference organisers promise that there will be over 200 sessions this year and that delegates will discover state-of-the-art research, groundbreaking treatments, and visionary insights that will one’s passion for oncology. The sessions will complement Dr. Lynn Schuchter’s Presidential theme ‘The Art and Science of Cancer Care: From Comfort to Cure’.

IAHPC announces Travelling Scholarships to participate in the 13th EAPC Research Congress
The International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) has announced Scholarships to support the travel of palliative care workers to attend the 13th Research Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) scheduled to be held in Barcelona, Spain, between Thursday, 16th May, 2024, and Saturday, 18th May, 2024.
The IAHPC’s Scholarship Program aims to provide financial assistance to palliative care professionals to attend events that will enable them to improve palliative care in their settings, which will ultimately lead to better and adequate policies and/or institutional norms, increased access to palliative care, as well as access to essential medicines for pain relief and palliative care.
Current IAHPC members (from any discipline) and whose membership expiration date is after the final date of the event are eligible to apply for the scholarship. They also share that the scholarship will fund for travel and registration only and that applicants will need to secure funding from other sources to cover additional expenses.
Please note that the deadline to apply for the scholarship is Thursday, 15th February, 2024. Results will be announced early March 2024.

The European Association of Palliative Care’s (EAPC) reference group on Public Health is inviting registrations for it’s webinar on ‘Public Health Approaches to Bereavement Support’ scheduled for Wednesday, 21st February, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. (IST).
The webinar will feature presentations on ‘Public health model for bereavement support’ by Prof. Samar Aoun (Australia), ‘Translation into policy: The example of the Irish Hospice Foundation’ by Ms Orla Keegan (Ireland), ‘Translation into policy and practice: The example of the National Bereavement Alliance UK’ by Ms Alison Penny (UK), and conclude with a panel discussion that will be chaired by Dr John Rosenberg (Australia).

The Palliative Care Research Society (PCRS) is inviting registrations for their webinar on ‘Social Media in Palliative Care’ scheduled for Thursday, 22nd February, 2024, between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (IST).
The webinar aims to explore the utility of social media in palliative care for the individual, organisation and entire specialty. The webinar will be presented by Dr Tony Duffy (Consultant, Palliative Medicine, Community team consultant, St Columba’s hospice care, Edinburgh).
The webinar will be free for PCRS Members and £5 for non PCRS members.

Registrations invited for ‘Curios 4.0’, 23rd – 25th February, 2024
The Institute of Palliative Medicine’s (IPM) ‘Curios 4.0’, a palliative care carnival, is scheduled to be held at IPM, Kozhikode, Kerala, between Friday, 23rd February, 2024, and Sunday, 25th February, 2024. The theme of this year’s carnival is ‘Celebrating Compassion’.
The carnival has been envisioned by the youth volunteers of IPM to raise awareness about palliative care, mobilize resources, create memorable memories for patients and their families, and spread compassion. The three-day carnival includes entertainment (performances, food, dance) and various programs designed to foster human connection (story-telling and letter-writing).
The event will therefore also include a global exhibition in categories like photography, artwork, videography, storytelling, letter-writing, and poetry.
