Register for the ‘Cicely Saunders International Annual Lecture 2023’ on 22nd May, 2023
The much awaited ‘Cicely Saunders International Annual Lecture 2023’ has been announced. The lecture this year will be on ‘Intensive Caring: Reminding Patients They Matter‘, and will be presented by Dr Harvey Max Chochinov, between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (IST) on Monday, 22nd May, 2023.
Dr Chochinov is a Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba and a Senior Scientist at CancerCare Manitoba Research Institute, Canada.
The Cicely Saunders International Annual Lecture is an annual event hosted by the Cicely Saunders Institute, King’s College London. Lectures during this event are presented by global leaders whose work has significantly influenced the field.
Clinicians, healthcare researchers, health policymakers and palliative care funders are encouraged to register for the free lecture, as these lectures provide participants with a unique opportunity to learn from world-leading clinicians and scientists.

Registrations invited for the EPEC Pediatric Trainer Conference, 22nd – 24th May, 2023
Registrations are invited for the Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (EPEC) – Pediatrics Trainer Conference scheduled to be held virtually between Monday, 22nd May, 2023, and Wednesday, 24th May, 2023.
The three day virtual conference is open to all clinicians with experience in Pediatric palliative care (PPC). The conference will present delegates with plenaries and small group breakout sessions. The sessions will follow a train-the-trainer format and include sessions on pediatric pain, symptom management, grief and bereavement, child development and other key aspects of PPC to an interdisciplinary audience using interactive lectures, cases and role plays.
The conference will also present an additional one-day EPEC Pediatric Professional Development Workshop on Thursday, 25th May, 2023.
Conference organisers share that discounts are available for participants from low and medium income countries.

Last chance to register for the ‘Advance Care Planning Conference’, 24th – 27th May, 2023
Register to participate in the first International advance care planning (ACP) conference in Asia, the 8th International Conference on Advance Care Planning (ACP-i 2023), scheduled to be held in Singapore, between Wednesday, 24th May, 2023, and Saturday, 27th May, 2023. The conference will be held in a hybrid mode and is being spearheaded by the ACP-i Society.
Conference organisers share that special registration rates are available for delegates from middle and low income countries, and that conference delegates will be eligible for CME/CPE points.
Held once every two years, the ACP-i this year is expected to convene over 800 delegates comprising healthcare and social service administrators, clinical practitioners, researchers, academics and policymakers, to elicit fresh views and critique from international thought leaders and practitioners on the best practices on ACP.
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘ACP in Cultural Diversity: More Similar than Different’, aims to highlight the common struggles and shared opportunities in fostering person centred care in serious illness. The conference aims to therefore provide delegates with an opportunity to learn about the latest developments and best practices in the field, as well as to gain practical skills and knowledge through workshops and panel discussions. Conference delegates will also be able to network with an international audience, as well as keep up-to-date with the latest information on ACP, which can help improve the quality of care for patients and their families

This session will be presented by Professor Nancy Preston, the Co-Director of the International Observatory on End of Life Care and Associate Dean for Post Graduate Education at Lancaster University.
The webinar will be presented via Microsoft Teams and will be free for PCRS members. Non-PCRS members will need to pay a nominal amount to participate in the webinar.

The European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) is inviting registrations for their free webinar on ‘The Case for Public Health Palliative Care’, scheduled for Wednesday, 31st May, 2023, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (IST).
The interactive webinar is being presented by EAPC Reference Group on Public Health and Palliative Care.

Registrations open for the ‘Creating Connections Palliative Care Conference 2023: Changing Policy and Practice’, 20th June, 2023
Registrations are invited for the free one-day, hybrid conference, ‘Creating Connections Palliative Care Conference: Changing Policy and Practice’ scheduled for Tuesday, 20th June, 2023.
The hybrid conference is being organised by the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre and the University of Technology Sydney. The conference will be held at the Aura Innovation Centre, Bridgehead Business Park, Meadow Road, Hessle, HU13 0GD, England, with delegates being able to also participate virtually.
The conference organisers share that anyone with an interest in provisioning palliative care for people with advanced and chronic illnesses are welcome to register, and that the conference provides participants with an opportunity to see some of the exciting and leading-edge research being undertaken as part of a collaboration funded by the Research England’s International Investment Initiative (I3).
The conference will present a keynote address on “End of life care for those from minoritised communities – How can we be the better specialty?”, by Professor Jonathan Koffman (Professor, Palliative Care, Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre, Hull York Medical School, University of Hull, UK).
