Apply for the Pediatric Palliative Medicine Fellowship

The Palliative and Supportive Care Unit at the Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children will be offering a one year Clinical Pediatric Palliative Medicine Fellowship starting in January 2022. The fellowship is in collaboration with Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration and is endorsed by the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (United Kingdom).

Apply for the recently revived IAHPC Annual Recognition Awards Program

The International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC) has recently announced the revival of their Annual Recognition Awards Program to promote the development of palliative care around the world.

This year, six awards will be given to individuals and institutions located in high, middle, and low income countries to acknowledge and recognize individuals and institutions that have contributed to the advancement and provision of palliative care. Each award will consist of a US $1,000 prize, a certificate, and a free one-year IAHPC membership.

The World’s first Compassionate Communities Day will be celebrated on Monday, 1st November, 2021, to build on the momentum of the growing number of Compassionate Communities projects and programs, highlight the work of members and member organizations around the globe, and continue to mobilise and connect people through local compassionate actions related to dying, death, caregiving and grief.

The inaugural #WorldCCDay on 1st November will culminate in an online symposium on Tuesday, 2nd November, 2021, where leaders in Public Health Palliative Care, Compassionate Communities, and related areas will explore contemporary and future issues.

Register for the ongoing ‘WHO and Religions for Peace global conference’ to strengthen national responses to health emergencies

The World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with Religions for Peace and the EPI-WIN Faith Communities of Practice is hosting a global conference to look at ‘Strengthening national responses to health emergencies: WHO, Religious Leaders, Faith-based Organizations, Faith Communities and National Governments’.  

This conference delves into good practice examples and covers diverse themes, regions, and faiths, to represent a valuable resource for the current and future health emergencies. The sessions of the conference will feature innovative responses in the areas of (i) Spiritual care during times of crisis, (ii) Country collaboration between WHO, faith partners and national governments, (iii) Trust and health histories, and (iv) Communication and advocacy for vaccine equity, access, and uptake.
