The World Hospice and Palliative Care Day’s Theme for 2022 has been announced!

The Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance (WHPCA) has announced that the theme for this year’s World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD) is “Healing Hearts and Communities.”

This year’s WHPCD will be celebrated on 8th October 2022.

World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is an annual unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world.

WHPCA shares, “The last couple of years have come with many ups and downs. Millions of people have experienced loss in different areas of life and one common thing is the experience of grief and loss globally because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Palliative care is the only health care provider that routinely provides bereavement support to patients and families. The world came together to fight and to try to end the pandemic. It is with that same spirit that we unite and support each other in times of grief. Please join the world on that day (WHPCD) as we learn from each other and share our experiences with grief and loss and how to find healing”.

They also share that this year’s WHPCD toolkit will be released shortly.
