Participate in the APHN’s webinar on ‘Weaving indigenious ways of knowing into Paediatric Palliative Care’, 6th August, 2024

The Asia Pacific Hospice and Palliative Care Network (APHN) is inviting registrations for their webinar, ‘Weaving indigenious ways of knowing into Paediatric Palliative Care’, slated for Tuesday, 6th August, 2024, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (IST).

The webinar will be presented by Dr Tess Moeke-Maxwell (Senior Research Fellow and Co-Director to Arai Palliative Care and End of Life Research Group at the School of Nursing, University of Auckland, New Zealand) and Dr Gemma Aburn (Nurse Specialist in Children’s Palliative care, Starship Child Health in Auckland, New Zealand).

This presentation will explore how integrating indigenous ways of knowing can ensure cultural competence and enhance clinical care delivery for children and their whānau. Māori are tangata whenua (people of the land) and the indigenous population in Aotearoa New Zealand. We will discuss how we have woven a Te Āo Māori (Māori worldview) and tikanga (cultural customs) into the provision of paediatric palliative care in Aotearoa.

Grab the last chance and register before Wednesday, 7th August, 2024, to participate in the Tata Memorial Centre’s (TMC) 2nd Continuing Education in Palliative Care (CEPaC), scheduled to be held on Saturday, 10th August, 2024, and Sunday, 11th August, 2024.

The in-person two-day academic activity is themed ‘Symptom Assessment and Management using [PM – POCUS]’ and is being organised by the Department of Palliative Medicine, Tata Memorial Center (TMC) Mumbai, at the R D Choksi Auditorium at TMH, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Sessions this year are designed to include a combination of lectures and workshops and will cover topics such as Symptom Assessment (Cancer Thrombosis and Effusions), Patient Management using Point of Care Ultra Sound, a hands-on Ultrasound Workshop, and an opportunity to interact with and meet experts and engage in rich discussions with palliative physicians from across the country.

Registrations invited for the IAPC’s Assam State Chapter’s first conference ‘IAPCON Assam 2024’ scheduled to be held at Dibrugarh, Assam, on Saturday, 14th December, 2024, and Sunday, 15th December, 2024.

The conference is hosted jointly by the IAPC’s Assam State Chapter and The Pratishruti Cancer and Palliative Care Trust.

The conference is themed ‘Making Palliative Care affordable, acceptable and accessible at doorstep’. E-posters and oral presentations are also invited for presentation at the conference. Apply now to participate for ‘e-cancer – TMC Kolkata Psycho-oncology Congress’, Kolkata, West Bengal, 7th September, 2024

The organisers of ‘e-cancer -TMC Kolkata Psycho-oncology Congress’, are inviting registrations for a one-day in-person congress, scheduled to be held at the Tata Medical Center (TMC), Kolkata, West Bengal, on Saturday, 7th September, 2024.

The congress this year will focus on the psychological and behavioural factors impacting access to care in cancer patients, anxiety, and depression in cancer patients. The conference has also planned for a symposium on pediatric psycho-oncology.

Early career oncologists, Graduate students in psychology, MBBS students, post graduate medical students, post graduate students of clinical psychology and those undertaking MPhil in Clinical Psychology are encouraged to register for the congress.  

Dr Soumitra Shankar Datta (Chair, Organising Committee, TMC Kolkata) also invites submissions for the McVie-Veronesi Research Award and oral presentation session, and the Dilip Mahalanabis Poster Award and poster presentation.

Register to participate in the McGill International Palliative Care Congress, Montreal, Canada, 15th – 18th October, 2024

Registrations are invited for the McGill International Palliative Care Congress, scheduled to take place between Tuesday, 15th October, 2024, and Friday, 18th October, 2024, at Montreal, Canada.

The biennial congress, organized and hosted by Palliative Care McGill is said to be one of the longest running congresses in the field of palliative care.

Physicians, researchers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, music therapists, art therapists, physical therapists and volunteers from across the globe are encouraged to register for the congress.

Over 1,500 delegates are expected to register for the 24th edition of the Congress (in-person) which aims to provide conference delegates with opportunities to connect, exchange and collaborate with each other. The congress is being designed to host blockbuster pre-conference workshops, day-long topical seminars, transformative plenary sessions and rigorous research from around the world.
