Register before 5th December, 2024, to participate in the ‘Cancer Pain and Onco-Palliative Care CME’ by KMCH, 7th December, 2024, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Registrations are invited for the one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) on ‘Cancer Pain and Onco-Palliative Care CME’ scheduled to be held at Lecture Hall 4, Kovai Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) on Saturday, 7th December, 2024.

The CME, is the first palliative care CME organised by the Department of Anesthesia and the Pain and Palliative Unit, KMCH, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in association with the KMCH Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

General Practitioners, Anaesthesiologist with special interest in pain and palliative care, Any specialist treating Cancer patients, Hospice and Geriatric care providers, Intensivists, and Medical, Nursing and Allied Health care students interested in exploring Palliative Care as a career option are encouraged to register for the CME.

The CME is designed to equip delegates with the latest knowledge and practices in Onco-Palliative Care, ensuring we provide holistic and compassionate care to our patients. Distinguished experts will share their valuable insights and experiences and explore critical aspects of Onco-Palliative Care which includes Pain Management, Pediatric Palliative Care, Psychosocial support, and other holistic approaches to foster a rich environment for learning.

Applications invited before 31st December, 2024, for the ‘Cynthia Goh Award’ and the ‘Lien Collaborative Bursary Award’; Registrations invited for the 16th APHC Conference 2025, 23rd – 26th April, 2025, Sarawak, Malaysia

Applications are invited for the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN)’s ‘Cynthia Goh Award 2024’ which recognises individuals that promote the development of palliative care within their regions or around the world. The ‘Cynthia Goh Award’ will be presented as a part of the APHN’s biennial conference the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference (APHC), in which one award will be granted per each APHC. The award is said to provide fully paid attendance to the APHC of that year including economy airfare, hotel lodging and registration fees, 15 minutes of airtime to present one’s acceptance speech at the conference and more. The ‘Lien Collaborative Bursary Award’ aims to support individuals who are past or current Lien Collaborative faculty members or participants to attend our upcoming biennial APHC. 16 eligible candidates will receive the award and receive support to cover registration fees, accommodation, and flights to attend the APHC. The 16th Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference 2025 is scheduled to be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Sarawak, Malaysia, between Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025, and Saturday, 26th April, 2025.

The in-person conference is themed ‘Embracing Diversity, Empowering Communities’ is a call to action to acknowledge the diverse needs of patients, families, and communities facing serious illness. The conference aims to empower communities and strengthen collaboration among healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and advocates, to collectively make a profound impact on palliative care accessibility, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, receives the comfort and dignity they deserve.

Submit applications before 17th January, 2025, for the ‘EAPC Researcher Award’; Registrations invited for the 19th World Congress of the EAPC, 29th – 31st May, 2025, Helsinki, Finland

Individuals working in palliative care from across the globe are invited to submit applications for the European Association of Palliative Care’s (EAPC) Researcher Award before Friday, 17th January, 2025.

The EAPC’s Researcher Awards are designed to recognise the work of researchers and clinicians in the field of palliative care who have recently made, or are currently making, an outstanding contribution to research and clinical practice, public advocacy, policy, or education. The 19th World Congress of the EAPC is scheduled to be held at Helsinki, Finland, between Thursday, 29th May, 2025, and Saturday, 31st May, 2025.

Themed ‘Ready for the future’, the congress is designed to create and provide a global forum for interdisciplinary education, research and professional interchange. Physicians, Nurses, Researchers, Allied Health and Social Care Professionals, Academicians, Educationalists, and Volunteers are encouraged to apply for the congress as it helps bring together experts from around the world and offers a key platform to transform patient care through innovation and knowledge sharing.

Abstracts invited for the 9th Advance Care Planning International Conference, Australia, 24th – 26th September, 2025

Abstracts are invited for presentation at the 9th Advance Care Planning International Conference, scheduled to be held in Australia, between Wednesday, 24th September, 2025, and Friday, 26th September, 2025.

Conference organisers share that the conference is themed ‘Are we there yet?’ as it recognises Advance Care Planning (ACP) to be a crucial starting point in the journey towards person and family-centred care, and to therefore embrace these journeys by interweaving ACP best practices and research through cultural, personal, organisational, system, and societal lenses.

Healthcare and social service administrators, clinical practitioners, researchers, academics and policymakers are encouraged to register and submit abstracts for presentation at the conference.
