The webinar will create opportunities for participants to listen to and learn from experts in the field of palliative care and global health economics, as they talk about the models of palliative and end-of-life care and their associated costs, the cost implications for health services and patients, mechanisms to improve patient outcomes and various funding frameworks.

The next lecture as part of the Global Palliative Care and Pain Relief Research Hub Webinar Series will be on ‘Optimizing the Global Palliative Nursing Workforce to Alleviate Serious Health-Related Suffering’ on Thursday, 15th December, 2022, between 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (IST).
This is the last lecture of the series, and will consist of 2-3 lectures followed by interactive discussions with faculty. CME’s will be offered for each session and a certificate will be available after a post-session evaluation is complete.
The webinar series is intended for multidisciplinary healthcare providers, palliative care specialists, students and trainees, researchers, multi-sector stakeholders and advocates invested in advancing palliative care and relief access.
The Global Palliative Care and Pain Relief Research Hub, is spearheaded by the eminent Dr. Felicia Knaul and consists of multidisciplinary clinicians, scientists, scholars, and advocates from Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Center’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Supportive Care Service; the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of the University of Miami Health System; the University of Miami Institute for Advanced Study of the Americas; and the International Association for Hospice & Palliative Care.

Registrations are invited for the in-person ‘4th & 5th Joint Sapporo Conference for Palliative and Supportive Care in Cancer’ scheduled to be held between Thursday 27th April, 2023, and Saturday, 29th April, 2023, at Sapparo Park Hotel, Japan. The 3-day conference is based on the concept of ‘Palliative care as a human right (Plague Charter)’.
