The free to attend webinar will be presented by Dr Catherine Walshe (Professor, International Observatory on End of Life Care, Lancaster University) via Microsoft Teams.

Those interested in pursuing a PhD related to palliative care are welcome to register and join the webinar. The webinar aims to explore the purpose of doing a PhD, the various study options available to those contemplating a PhD related to Palliative Care, and also touch upon presenting some of the PhD programmes at Lancaster University.

Participate in the EAPC’s webinar on ‘International and cross-national comparisons in palliative care research: population-health perspectives’, 27th January, 2025, 6:00 p.m. (IST)

Participation is invited for the European Association for Palliative Care’s (EAPC) webinar, ‘International and cross-national comparisons in palliative care research: population-health perspectives’ scheduled to be held on on Monday, 27th January, 2025, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (IST).

The free to attend webinar is being presented by the EAPC Reference Group on Public Health Palliative Care.

The webinar is designed for Mr Joachim Cohen from Belgium to welcome the gathering, before first segment on ‘Preferences and experiences of people in the last phase of life: international cohort study’ which will be presented by Prof. Agnes van der Heide from the Netherlands. This will be followed by a session on ‘Epidemiology of dying and palliative care needs in Latin America’ by Prof. Tania Pastrana from Germany. The last session planned for the webinar will be on the ‘Importance of place of end-of-life care  and death: policy implications’ presented by Prof. Barbara Gomes from Portugal. Participants will then have an opportunity to engage with the speakers in a panel discussion and a question and answer section.

Submit abstracts and register for the ‘South African Palliative Care Conference 2025’, 18th – 21st June, 2025, Durban, South Africa

Registrations are invited for the ‘South African Palliative Care Conference 2025’ scheduled to be held at the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, Durban, South Africa, between Wednesday, 18th June, 2025, and Saturday, 21st June, 2025. The conference is being organised jointly by the Association of Palliative Care Practitioners of South Africa (PALPRAC), Palliative Care for Children South Africa (PatchSA) and the Association of Palliative Care Centres (APCC).

Themed ‘Palliative Care: Revolution. Evolution. Solution’, the conference aims to foster a deeper understanding of the critical role palliative care plays in healthcare systems, by sharing innovative practices, and building networks that strengthen collective efforts. Healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, advocates, students and professional volunteers who care for people from all ages living with serious, life-threatening or life limiting illnesses and their families are encouraged to participate in the conference.

The conference aims to serve as a platform for insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and professional development and includes workshops, panel discussions, plenary and parallel presentations.
