Register for the EAPC’s Webinar, ‘Palliative Care and Multiple Sclerosis’ on 7th June, 2023

Registrations are invited for the European Association of Palliative Care’s (EAPC) free webinar on ‘Palliative care and Multiple Sclerosis’ on Wednesday, 7th June, 2023, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (IST).

The webinar is presented by the EAPCs Reference Group on Neurology. The webinar will be chaired by David Oliver and will feature three presentations. The first session will be on ‘The role of palliative care in Multiple Sclerosis – is this appropriate, how do we recognise later stage disease’ and will be presented by Dr Lorraine Petersen (UK). This will be followed by a session on ‘Advance care planning in Multiple Sclerosis’ presented by Andrea Giodano (Italy). The webinar concludes with a session on ‘Rehabilitation and palliative care in multiple sclerosis – the overlap and collaboration’.

Grab your last chance to register for the 8th Singapore Palliative Care Conference (SPCC) by registering before Thursday, 15th June, 2023. The in-person conference is slated to be held at the Marina Bay Sands, Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore, between Saturday, 1st July, 2023, and Sunday, 2nd July, 2023.

The biennial conference organised by the Singapore Hospice Council has been themed ‘Building Collaborative Communities’ as it focuses on encouraging inclusivity, multidisciplinary team work, and to provide for open dialogue for learning in the field of palliative care amongst different disciplines in both inpatient and community settings.

The organising committee of SPCC share that they are beyond excited to be bringing together a stellar line-up of both local and international speakers and experts, to create opportunities for conference delegates to meet, share ideas and hear from the best of the best in the industry.

Healthcare professionals, community service providers, industrial partners, scientists, educators, caregivers and volunteers are invited to participate in the conference.

Submissions are also invited before for the Photo competition titled, ‘Courage to Care’, before Friday 9th June, 2023.  Winners will be picked in 7 categories with each winner having the chance to walk away with $300 cash and dining vouchers worth up to $500 combined. Abstracts invited before 20th June, 2023, to participate in the Hospice and Palliative Care Association Nigeria’s 15th Scientific Conference, 5th – 6th July, 2023

Abstract submissions are invited for the 15th Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Nigeria (HPCAN), which will be held at Hotel Sylvia, Enugu, South East Nigeria on Wednesday, 5th July, 2023, and Thursday, 6th, July, 2023.

The conference will be presented in a hybrid conference to allow delegates to attend it both in person and also virtually.

The conference is themed ‘Palliative Care in humanitarian settings’ and will have the sub-themes of  ‘Paediatric palliative care’ and ‘Nursing care in palliative care’.

Conference organisers also share that there will be three virtual pre-conference workshops which will be conducted by PallChase, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the End-of-Life-Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) respectively on Monday, 3rd July, 2023.

Apply before 30th June for the ‘Cynthia Goh Award’ and to participate in the 15th APHC Conference 2023, 4th – 7th October, 2023

The Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN)’s ‘Cynthia Goh Award’ recognises individuals that promote the development of palliative care within their regions or around the world.

The ‘Cynthia Goh Award’ will be presented as a part of the APHN’s biennial conference the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference (APHC), in which one award will be granted per each APHC. The award is said to provide fully paid attendance to the APHC of that year including economy airfare, hotel lodging and registration fees, and more. The 15th Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference 2023 is scheduled to be held at the Songdo Convensia, Incheon, Korea, between Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, and Saturday, 7th October, 2023, later this year.

The in-person conference will be in English and house the theme ‘Expanding Horizons of Palliative Care in the New Era’ to reflect the readiness to share knowledges, expertise, tips, pandemic experiences, and delaying sympathy of loss in each and every session, post a long covid break which deterred organising in-person conferences.

Submit abstracts before 30th June, 2023, to participate in the 6th Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Alliance Conference, 15th – 17th November, 2023

Abstracts are invited for the 6th Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Alliance (KEHPCA) National Palliative Care Conference scheduled to be held between Wednesday, 15th November, 2023, and Saturday, 17th November, 2023, at the Acacia Premier Hotel, Kisumu, Kenya.

The in-person conference biennial conference is held this year after 2018 due to covid imposed restrictions. The conference is themed, ‘Palliative Care through the inclusivity lens’ as it aims to highlight the best practices and share lessons on enhancing the equity and inclusivity of palliative care provision and advancement. The conference will therefore focus on equity through inclusivity for the beneficiaries of palliative care, the timing of palliative care, the setting of palliative care provision, and other stakeholders.

The conference aims to bring together people from Kenya, the African region, and the world to a forum for lesson sharing and knowledge translation for equitable and inclusive palliative care.
