Registrations are invited for the Asia Pacific Hospice and Palliative Care Network’s (APHN) webinar on ‘Geriatrics and Palliative Care for Older People’ slated for Wednesday, 5th March, 2025, between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. (IST)

The insightful webinar will be presented by Prof. David Currow (Hon. Professor, University of Wollongong, Australia). The webinar will highlight the importance of meeting the needs of people with a life-limiting illness which requires a multi-disciplinary approach to care. Older people are likely to have additional needs that require special consideration. This includes: chronic symptoms and active co-morbidities; the risk of frailty being accelerated; and multiple long-term medications that are mostly unrelated to their life-limiting illness. The role of caregivers, if this is a spouse, will also need special consideration.

The webinar will conclude with an opportunity for participants to engage with Prof. Currow during the discussion segment.

Submit abstracts before 30th March, 2025, for the ‘8th International African Palliative Care and Allied Services Conference 2025’, Gaborone, Botswana, 23rd – 26th September, 2025

Abstracts are invited before Sunday, 30th March, 2025, to participate in the ‘8th International African Palliative Care and Allied Services Conference 2025’, scheduled to be held at Gaborone, Botswana, between Tuesday, 23rd September, 2025, and Friday, 26th September, 2025. The conference is presented by the African Palliative Care Association (APCA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Botswana.

The conference is themed, 20 Years of Palliative and Comprehensive Chronic Care for Sustainable Development in Africa’ as it marks two decades of APCA’s transformative work in palliative and comprehensive chronic care across the continent. The conference will therefore spotlight the pivotal role of palliative care in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and also provide delegates with an interactive platform to discuss the progress and challenges in integrating palliative care into the African health systems over the past 20 years along with identifying innovative strategies for sustainable development.

Multidisciplinary teams, academia, interagency development partners, civil society, policymakers etc. are invited to register for the conference and share experiences, lessons, innovations, successes, and failures in program implementation, patient and family care, education, advocacy, innovation, research, and policy development.

APHC 2025: Registrations are now open for pre-conference workshops, Sarawak, Malaysia, 23rd April, 2025

Registrations are invited for the 8 interesting pre-conference workshops scheduled to be held at APHC 2025, the 16th Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Sarawak, Malaysia.

Delegates are welcome to register for the 8 pre-conference workshops designed to deepen one’s knowledge and skills in palliative care, engage in hands-on sessions, and connect with peers before the main conference. The pre-conference workshops are slated for Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025.

The main conference themed ‘Embracing Diversity, Empowering Communities’,  is a call to action to acknowledge the diverse needs of patients, families, and communities facing serious illness and is scheduled to be held between Thursday, 24th April, 2025, and Saturday, 26th April, 2025.
