Register for a free virtual workshop on ‘Improving Advance Care Planning Engagement for all in Long-term Care’, 4th May, 2022

Dr Tamara Sussman, Associate Professor, School of Social Work, McGill University, Canada, is delivering a free virtual workshop on ‘Improving Advance Care Planning Engagement for all in Long-term Care’, on Wednesday, 4th May, 2022, at 4:30 a.m. (IST) as a part of Canada’s National Palliative Care Week’s celebration.

The workshop will present highlights from Dr. Sussman’s various projects over the past five years to improve advance care planning (ACP) engagement in long-term care (LTC). The session will also address critical issues such as the timing of ACP engagement, the role of the clinical and non-clinical staff in LTC and in the ACP process, evidence based informed tips on how to engage psychosocially oriented ACP conversations through daily care interactions and self-directed workbooks in order to facilitate the transition into palliative care.

Register and participate in the Western Pacific Palliative Care Advocacy Network’s  (WPPCAN) workshop on ‘The Power of Stories in Palliative Care Advocacy’. The workshop is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 4th May, 2022, between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Smriti Rana, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement, Pallium India, will be the Guest Speaker for this session, as she is passionate about the inclusion of people with lived experience in decision-making; the role of storytelling in healthcare delivery and resiliency-building practices; death literacy and appropriate end of life care; and decolonizing and humanizing healthcare.

The 5th Maruzza International Congress on Paediatric Palliative Care, is scheduled to be held at Rome, between Wednesday, 25th May, 2022, and Saturday, 28th May, 2022. The theme of the congress isListen! Really Listen!’ as it aims to provide child patients suffering from serious illnesses and their families a voice to evoke responses from the professionals involved in the scientific, clinical, organizational, ethical, legal, training and information sectors who are involved with provisioning care to children with serious illnesses and their families.

The congress aims to cross pollinate experiences, encourage knowledge sharing, divulge innovative approaches, present cutting-edge technology and foster new synergies across diverse cultures and disciplines to improve the global delivery of quality palliative care irrespective of a child patients’ diagnosis, prognosis or their socio-economic backgrounds.

Register for the EAPC’s, 18th World Congress, 15th – 17th June, 2023

The theme of the Congress ‘Equity and Diversity in Palliative Care’ aims to draw attention to the utmost need and goal of creating equity of fair access, opportunity, and advancement in palliative care for all people in need of this care.

The congress is scheduled to be held between Wednesday, 15th June, 2023, to Friday, 17th June, 2023, at Netherlands.

Register for the 7th International African Palliative Care Conference, 24th – 26th August, 2022

The 7th International African Palliative Care Conference, of the African Palliative Care Association, is a hybrid conference scheduled to be held between Wednesday, 24th August, 2022, to Friday, 26th August 2022, in Kampala, Uganda.

The conference theme is ‘Palliative Care in a Pandemic’. The conference is also being co-hosted by Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance. 

The organisers invite Palliative care experts, researchers, health workers, carers, donors, and people living with palliative care needs to register and participate in the conference. They also share that Ministers of Health, Dignitariesand other Government technical officials from several countries are expected to attend the conference.

Submit abstracts before 31st May, 2022 for the International Neuroethics Society’s Annual Meeting, 2nd – 4th November, 2022

The International Neuroethics Society’s (INS) invites researchers and clinicians from around the world to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2022 INS Annual Meeting, a hybrid meeting, scheduled to be held between Wednesday, 2nd November, 2022, and Friday, 4th November, 2022. The physical component of the meeting will take place in Montreal, Canada, at the Institut de Recherches Cliniques de Montréal (IRCM).

The theme for the meeting is, ‘Bringing Neuroethics to Life Throughout Patient Care, Research, and Policy’. Sessions will tackle topics related to neuroethics in brain health and prevention; diagnosis; emerging therapies, neurotechnologies, and research; neurorecovery and end of life. The Meeting organizers are particularly interested in fostering interdisciplinary exchanges, international cross-talk, and facilitating a greater inclusion of clinicians and clinician-investigators in this year’s annual meeting.
