Registrations are invited for Stanford Medicine’s hybrid conference, ‘Innovations in Pediatric Palliative Care: Integrating Pediatric Palliative Care and Addressing Ethical Considerations for Patients with Complex Cardiac Disease’ on Tuesday, 8th October, 2024, between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. (IST).

This conference is dedicated to enhancing the quality of pediatric palliative care for patients with complex cardiac disease. The organisers share that by focusing on the critical issues of ethical decision-making and compassionate care, they aim to build a community that prioritizes the well-being of these patients and their families. The conference is said to feature expert speakers, with the sole objective of fostering an environment of empathy and ethical integrity which ultimately improves the outcomes for all.

While the conference has a nominal registration fee, it is free for trainees.

Register to participate in the APHN’s webinar on ‘Nursing in Palliative Care’ on 16th October, 2024

The Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN) is presenting their final session of their quarterly webinar series on ‘Nursing in Palliative Care’ on Wednesday, 16th October, 2024, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. (IST).

The webinar will be presented by Prof. Chia-Chin Lin (Professor in Nursing, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Charity Foundation, Hong Kong) and Prof. Patsy Yates (Executive Dean, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology, Australia).

The interactive webinar will include presentations and discussions on Trends in palliative care and implications for nurses in the region, and Nurse-led ACP intervention for older adults in nursing homes.

Attendees will also be eligible to receive an e-certificate of participation at the end of the webinar.

Register to participate in the ‘Palliative Care Symposium’, Hyderabad, 19th October, 2024

Register to participate in a one-day symposium ‘Palliative Care Symposium’ organised by Sparsh Hospice on Hyderabad, Telangana, on Saturday, 19th October, 2024.

Healthcare professionals are encouraged to attend the free-to-attend in-person symposium which will be held at the hospice. The initiative aims to empower participants in the basics of palliative care and improve patient outcomes for those suffering with serious health related illnesses, by enhancing a participant’s understanding and equipping them with practical tools to better support patients and their caregivers. The program also aims to foster networking and collaboration among participants.

The symposium will be delivered by experienced faculty and include topics such as introduction to palliative care, symptom management, psychosocial issues and end of life care. Participants will also have to opportunity to have a tour of the hospice and spend a day with the hospice team.

The Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference 2025: Abstract submissions open! General Bursary and Rosalie Shaw Travel Scholarship announced!

Registrations are invited for the 16th Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Conference (APHC) 2025, scheduled to be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, between Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025, and Saturday, 26th April, 2025.

The in-person conference is themed ‘Embracing Diversity, Empowering Communities, as it acknowledges the diverse needs of patients, families, and communities facing serious illnesses. The conference aims to foster collaboration, exchange knowledge, and explore innovative approaches to palliative care, and will include interactive sessions, workshops and presentations by renowned experts in the field.

Researchers are invited to submit their abstracts for oral or poster presentations and be a part of advancing and shaping the future of palliative care in the Asia Pacific region. Registrations invited for the CME ‘Evidence for Integrating Palliative Oncology in Advance Cancer Setting’, Bengaluru, 23rd and 24th November, 2024

The ‘South African Palliative Care Conference 2025’ has announced a call for abstracts

Registrations and abstract submissions are now invited for the ‘South African Palliative Care Conference 2025’ scheduled to be held at the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, Durban, South Africa, between Wednesday, 18th June, 2025, and Saturday, 21st June, 2025. The conference is being organised jointly by the Association of Palliative Care Practitioners of South Africa (PALPRAC), Palliative Care for Children South Africa (PatchSA) and the Association of Palliative Care Centres (APCC).

The conference is themed ‘Palliative Care: Revolution. Evolution. Solution’ and aims to foster a deeper understanding of the critical role palliative care plays in healthcare systems, by sharing innovative practices, and building networks that strengthen collective efforts. Healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, advocates, students and professional volunteers who care for people from all ages living with serious, life-threatening or life limiting illnesses and their families are encouraged to participate in the conference.

The conference aims to serve as a platform for insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and professional development and includes workshops, panel discussions, plenary and parallel presentations.

The Call for Abstracts has also been announced and researchers are invited to submit their work that introduces new and innovative ideas, concepts, research findings and advances to the field of adult and/or paediatric and/or palliative care systems, as well as analysis of both success and failure.
