Registrations are invited for the European Association for Palliative Care’s (EAPC) webinar on ‘Assessment of pain syndromes in people with cancer: cancer-related pain and beyond’ slated for Tuesday, 3rd September, 2024, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (IST).

The webinar is being organised by the EAPC Research Network Junior Forum and will be presented by Dr Daniel Ciampi de Andrade (Associate Professor, Center for Neuroplasticity and Pain, Department of Health Science and Technology; Faculty, Medicine, University of Aalborg, Denmark).

The webinar is free to attend for those interested and will include a discussion section at the end of the webinar.

Registrations are invited before Friday,  27th September, 2024, to participate in the ‘Hospice New Zealand Palliative Care Conference’ scheduled to be held at the Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre, New Zealand, on Monday, 4th November, 2024 and Tuesday, 5th November, 2024.

Applications invited for a workshop on ‘Clinical Ethics in Palliative Care’, 28th and 29th September, 2024, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Applications are invited for a two-day in-person workshop on ‘Clinical Ethics in Palliative Care’, scheduled to be held on Saturday, 28th September, 2024, and Sunday, 29th September, 2024 at Hospis Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The workshop is being organised jointly by Hospis Malaysia, and the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network.

The comprehensive workshop will be presented by Dr Sumytra Menon (Deputy Director, Centre for Biomedical Ethics; Co-Director, Clinical Ethics Network + Research Ethics Support (CENTRES) initiative at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore) and Prof. Dr Chan Mei Yoke (Senior Consultant, Paediatrics Haematology / Oncology at KKH, Singapore; Chair, Hospital Ethics Committee).

The comprehensive webinar will aim to deepen a participant’s understanding of critical ethical issues and practices in palliative care through case discussions. The workshop will touch upon topics such as role of ethics in palliative care, Ethical communication, Withdrawing and withholding treatment, Physician assisted suicide, Euthanasia, Advanced medical directive and advanced care planning, Palliative sedation and Ethics at the end of life.

Abstracts invited for the ‘19th World Congress of the EAPC’, Helsinki, Finland, 29th – 31st May, 2025

Abstracts are invited presentation at the  submission for the ‘19th World Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care’ (EAPC) scheduled to be held at Helsinki, Finland, between Thursday, 29th May, 2024, and Saturday, 31st May, 2025.

The Scientific Committee of the congress urges palliative care researchers to grab this opportunity and showcase their research and connect with palliative care professionals from around the globe by submitting abstracts before Thursday, 31st October, 2025.

Themed ‘Ready for the future’, the congress is designed to create and provide a global forum for interdisciplinary education, research and professional interchange. Physicians, Nurses, Researchers, Allied Health and Social Care Professionals, Academicians, Educationalists, and Volunteers are encouraged to apply for the congress as it helps bring together experts from around the world and offers a key platform for knowledge sharing and networking.
