North Zone: World Hospice & Palliative Care Day Celebration at
Vanaprastha Dignity Trust, Hissar, Haryana
The Vanaprastha Dignity Trust, Hissar, commemorated this year’s World hospice and palliative care day by launching a book on ‘Palliative care and Elders Health’, written in Hindi.
The book consists of five sections:
i) the concept of palliative care,
ii) the aspects of Palliative Care,
iii) health issues of the elderly,
iv) how to start palliative care services in the city and
v) selected palliative care initiatives and senior citizens homes around Hisar city.
The book was launched by the Meyor Sh Gautam Sardana and Commissioner Nagar Nigam Sh Ashok Garg, IAS.
A seminar to develop a roadmap towards initiate palliative care services in the city was also organized and Mr Rajendra from Pallium India, addressed the gathering on this occasion.
The Vansaprastha Dignity Trust provides medical beds, wheel chairs and other equipments, free of charge to those in need of such equipment through their equipment bank.
