North Zone: World Hospice & Palliative Care Day Celebration at
Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi
Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital celebrated World Hospice and Palliative Care Day by conducting a half-day CME program for Postgraduate, Undergraduate students and by organising an awareness programs for the general community regarding palliative care.
The postgraduate and undergraduate students of Vardhman Mahavir Medical College presented a skit on Communication Skills and EOLC (End of Life Care) on the occasion, which was highly appreciated by one and all.
A lecture on Communication skills was delivered by Dr. Madhu Dayal, Senior Consultant, Safdarjung Hospital; while Ms. Priyanka, Senior Nursing officer, Safdarjung Hospital enlightened the audience on EOLC issues and care at home.
Dr. Kataria, Ex-HOD, Medical Oncology, Safdarjung Hospital, was felicitated on the occasion and the St. Ignatius Awards were presented to the winners from the poster and slogan competition.
The celebrations were attended by Dr. S. V. Arya, Medical Superintendent, Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Geetika Khanna Vardhman, Principal, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, all Additional Medical Superintendents, Dr. G. Usha, Head of the Department, fraternity doctors, nursing personnel, staff and public.
Patients were treated with special snacks and gifts on the occasion.
