Dear Friends,
As the sun rises on a new year, we step into another year of endless possibilities. On behalf of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC), I extend my warmest wishes to you all for a bright and fulfilling start to 2025. May this year bring growth, purpose, and joy to our shared efforts in advancing palliative care across India.
It is with immense pride, I share with you the remarkable ‘Journey of IAPC in 2024‘. Please click here to view a graphical representation of these accomplishments from 2024. These achievements are a testament to the collective contribution and dedication from each of us, which I’m certain will also undoubtedly motivate us to further progress palliative care in India. I extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you who have and will continue to work tirelessly towards this cause. Let us continue this journey together, to ensure that palliative care reaches every corner of our diverse country.

I am sure that each of you share our excitement towards the upcoming 32nd Annual International Conference of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPCON 2025), scheduled to be held at the Auditorium, AIIMS Jammu, between Friday, 31st January, 2025, and Sunday, 2nd February, 2025. Exciting and innovative pre-conference workshops are slated for Thursday, 30th January, 2025. The scientific team and the organising teams have curated exceptional sessions, events, and competitions for all of us to enjoy. Exciting awards and grants are also up for grabs! Beside enjoying an enriching academic experience, we are sure that you will also enjoy the serene beauty and warm hospitality of Jammu-Kashmir. I also extend a warm invitation to all members of the IAPC to participate in the IAPC’s upcoming Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM), scheduled to be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, 1st February, 2025, at Hall A, Auditorium, AIIMS Jammu. Please visit the ‘Announcements / Messages from the IAPC’ section of this newsletter for details about the AGBM’s agenda.
Another important reminder pertains to the deadline for submitting proposals to host the 34th Annual International Conference of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPCON 2027). Those who are passionate towards advancing the development of palliative care are invited to submit proposals in the prescribed format before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 13th January, 2025.
On the academic front, several important training programs have been conducted across the country by both the IAPC and other organisations. Please visit the ‘Education and Training’ section of the newsletter to read reports from the various educational initiatives held across India. I congratulate everyone involved for their efforts and commitment towards these initiatives.
