I am pleased to share that the latest edition of the Indian Journal of Palliative Care (July-September 2024) featuring a variety of engaging content such as review articles, original research, a case report, and short communications, are now available online. Through the IAPC’s well accepted initiative, the IAPC’s infographics for the month, we present to you another interesting infographic for September 2024, which focuses on ‘Ethics in Palliative Care’. Over time, these infographics have been recognized as an effective tool to raise awareness about palliative care among both the professionals and the general public. The IAPC celebrated this year’s World Photography Day with a special initiative, ‘A Photo Journey – Looking through the Prism of Palliative Care’. We invite you to explore this visual narrative that highlights the beauty and depth of palliative care through heartwarming and evocative images. In the upcoming 32nd Annual International Conference of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPCON 2025), there will be 15 innovative pre-conference workshops, some of which are being introduced for the first time in IAPCON. Please click here for further details about these workshops. Do note that abstract submissions are also open for researchers and please click here for details regarding the same. I strongly encourage you to register for the scientific fiesta, IAPCON 2025. Do visit the conference website for further information and to register for the conference slated to be held at AIIMS Jammu, between Friday, 31st January, 2025, and Sunday, 2nd February, 2025.
I am delightfully overwhelmed to share updates about the bustling activities that are ongoing in India’s palliative care community. Applications are invited for the ‘IAPC’s Certificate Course in Palliative Care Pharmacy’ and for the APM’s course on ‘Advanced Nursing Skills in Palliative Care’. Applications are also invited for several other palliative care educational initiatives announced by various institutions from across the country. Please head over to the ‘Education and Training’ section of this newsletter for further information about these courses. The section also features short reports from the various academic activities conducted across the country.
It is my never-ending excitement to celebrate the achievements of our colleagues, and the milestones surpassed by various organisations across India. Join me at the ‘Awards and Recognition’ section of the newsletter to celebrate their accomplishments! Congratulations to our colleagues!
