Team Pallium India Trust, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
Palliative Care Assistants from Pallium India Trust, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala
The essence of Pallium India’s operations is home based care, which would not have been as impactful as it is today, without our Palliative Care Assistants (PCAs). The PCAs are the ones who rotate the steerings and take our units to terrains which seem unconquered for the common man. Without them, reaching out to the needy would have been impossible.
During these visits, this team also take up the roles of caregivers, listeners, and what not! Our organizational facts and figures indicate that they have travelled a distance equivalent to travelling four times around the earth, in just the last year, to provide care for our beneficiaries.
They don’t have a big degree
Nor do they do what they do because of a decree
They have eyes to see and ears to hear
It has led them to the suffering of many far and near
They wished to do something which will calm the distress
Some things that matter which can be done in express
They drove, they moved with the team, they sat beside those in pain
They listened, they caressed, they let them open up, an effort which didn’t go in vain
Realising pain is beyond the scope of a stethoscope
They are committed to help heal and cope
This team is represented by (From left to right), Mr Muthukumar N, Mr Rajeev R, Mr Chandran Pillai, Mr Soman Nair, Mr Joosa Thomas, Mr Abhilash S.
