Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences has been registered as a center for conducting IAPC academic course from Nov’19, with Dr. Abhijith Dam, as the faculty in charge.

The theme My Care, My Right aims to communicate that palliative care can be demanded by the public – and that, together, every person impacted by a life limiting illness can influence their policy makers to prioritize palliative care financing under Universal Health Coverage.
IAPC conducts Volunteer Training Programme at Shihab Thangal Center for Humanity
Around 25 volunteers were imparted 16 hours training by IAPC at AIKMCC Shihab Thangal Centre for Humanity. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Stanley Muckaden.

‘Kosish-The Hospice’, Jharkand,the Secretriat of IAPC, conducted an Awareness programme for the high school students of Sree Ayappa Public School, Bokaro Steel City. Dr. Abhijith, Secretary IAPC, Mrs.Mini Saha, NIO, IAPC, delivered an informative talk on the concept of Palliative care and it’s importance to about 400 students and teachers. The students interacted and appreciated the talk.
Blankets and food were distributed to the poor and elderly population in the villages by ‘Kosish’ team members.
Blood donation camp organized at IGIMS, Patna.
On the occasion of World hospice and Palliative care day, 12th Oct’19, blood donation camp was organized where 25 donors including doctors, nurses and PG students donated blood for the poor patients.
A TV talk show was organized in a local TV channel (Pratidin Time) on the occasion of World Hospice and Palliative Care day All the panelists (Dr. Dinesh Goswami, Dr. Kabindra Bhagawati, Dr. Arun Deka) narrated the importance of the day and to create awareness. They appealed to all sections of people to come forward and take part in the upcoming International conference IAPCON 2020, February in Guwahati.
On the occasion of World Hospice and Palliative care day Oct’12, AIIMS Rishikesh, End-of Life Nursing Education Consortium conducted Core Training Programe for 40 Nursing officers from 10th-12th Oct’19.

Department Of Anesthesia, Safdurjung Hospital has been running Pain and Palliative Clinic since 2007, under the guidance of Dr. Saveena G Raheja. Word Hospice and Palliative Care day was celebrated on 11th October 2019, by organizing a public health awareness seminar. The event was graced by Principal VMMC Prof. N. N. Mathur, Add. MS, Dr. Rajiv Sharma & Dr. Ranjan Wadhwa. Vardhman Mahaveer college students also participated in the event by performing a nukkad natak on prevention of cancer and palliative care. Event was attended by doctors, nurses, volunteers, general public and patients from various wards in the hospital.
“Listening OP Clinic”, the first of its kind not only in India ,but also in Asia, inaugurated on this occasion,will function from 10 AM to 12.30 PM on all Saturdays in OKhla focusing on the mental well being of the patients. The Clinic will be run by DNipCare in association with the vibrant Listening Community Volunteers comprising of Clinical Psychologists and Psychology students in Delhi. The Clinic has been inaugurated digitally by Mr. Nambissan, Former Director, DoPT Government of India.
The World Hospice & Palliative Care Day was observed on Saturday, 12th October 2019 by DNipCare in association with KMWA, Delhi in the Kerala Islamic Cultural Centre. Over 35,000 patients have already availed the OP Clinical services rendered by the organization from 2014.
