South Zone: World Hospice & Palliative Care Day Celebration at
Shihab Thangal Center for Humanity, Bengaluru and Kodagu, Karnataka
The Shihab Thangal Center for Humanity (STCH), Bengaluru, celebrated World Hospice and Palliative Care Day by officially inaugurating the Palliative Home Care Unit of STCH on 9th October 2021, despite the center providing services for the past year and half.
The Bengaluru team also visited an old age home in Bengaluru. The Palliative care team which visited the old age home included doctors, nurses and volunteers, who provided medical assistance to the people at the old age home. Additionally, the team also distributed blankets, clothes, fruits and other food items to all the senior citizens at the center. The unit has also offered to sponsor food periodically to the center.
The Shihab Thangal Center for Humanity, Kodagu unit, celebrated the occasion by organizing sensitization programs for the public and by launching a new vehicle of palliative home care. The Kodagu unit also visited patients at their homes and distributed fruits and food items to the patients and their families.
