Mrs Sumitra Choudhary, is one of the Senior Nurses at BMCHRC and has worked there for 18 years now. Mrs Choudhary has worked in palliative care from 2008 and holds the charge of all the OPDs.

Apart from her exceptional nursing skills, she trains, teaches and mentors. She has been a faculty for the IAPC’s ‘Certificate Course in Essentials of Palliative Care’ for over 10 years now and is involved with the National Program for Palliative Care for the last 4 years. She was also a member of the QI team with the Stanford PC PAICE project.

Ms Choudhary has also participated as faculty in the recently conducted IAPCON 2022, Jaipur, and was also a part of a research project that was presented at the conference.

Her leadership qualities have been instrumental in coordinating our Palliative Care Service through Home Care/ IPD TELEconsult / Day Care and in collaborating with the community / NGOs.

Her professionalism, meticulousness and commitment have contributed to the efficient running of the PC department as it grows.
