South Zone: World Hospice & Palliative Care Day Celebration at

Pookoya Thangal Hospice, Calicut, Kerala

The Pookoya Thangal Hospice has been functional since August 2020 and is headquartered near the Govt.  Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode.

We celebrated this year’s World Hospice and Palliative Care Day at various centres by organizing different patient centered programs.  

A few of our centers pledged to follow this year’s WHPCD slogan of not leaving anyone behind and to ensure equity in access to palliative care.

Our volunteers distributed gifts, fruits, clothes etc. to our inpatients and to the patients in our home care program by visiting their homes. The volunteers also spent time with all these patients.

We also conducted a few awareness programs to sensitize people about palliative care, its need and importance.
