Today on 14/10/2023, World Hospice and Palliative Care Day was celebrated at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi as a Public Awareness Program. Dr Vandana Talwar MS emphasized the importance of compassionate community for better quality of life of non curative conditions. Dr Geetika Khanna, Principal, addressed the gathering & implored everyone to take a pledge today to celebrate palliative care, showing the world how vital it is,& why we must make sure everyone has access, no matter what they do and where they live, what their age or background is.
Palliative Care Team, Dr Saveena G Raheja, Dr Madhu Dayal, Dr Deepa K Khurana, Dr Dimple Pande shared their patients testimonial in form of video recordings. There was Nukad-Natak done by Undergraduate Medical Students. Sixth St. Ignatius Competition was held in form painting, prizes were given for best enteries. The programme was attended well by General Public, Medical Students, Residents, Nursing Officers, Senior Consultants, Additional MS, Principal VMMC, Medical Superintendent Safdarjung Hospital.
