Dr. Puneet Rathore who is pursuing an MD in Palliative Medicine at All India Institute of Medical Sci-ences (AIIMS), has won the prestigious Bruce Davis Gold Medal in Palliative Medicine for the year 2017.

The Bruce Davis Gold Medal includes a citation and cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- and is the only national-level program for junior doctors in palliative medicine in India. The other finalists were Dr. Nandan Choudhary, Dr. Puneet Rathore, Dr. Praneeth Suvvari, Dr. Prashant Sirohiya and Dr. Arun Vivek.

The Bruce Davis Gold Medal Examination was launched by IPM in 2005 to honor the memory of Mr. Wilfrid Bruce Davis, a philanthropist who has contributed extensively to develop palliative care services in India including financial assistance for the construction of IPM. The Award aims to improve awareness in palliative care and is the largest award given to any junior doctor in any discipline in mod-ern medicine in India.

The award will be presented to Dr. Puneet Rathore at the inaugural ceremony of the 25th Annual Conference of Indian Association of Palliative Care to be held at AIIMS in New Delhi in February 2018.
