Ms Bhuvaneswari, Ms Jensirani, Ms Kowsalya, Ms Megala, Ms Mounika, Ms Sandhya and Ms Sudha are the back bone nurses of our charitable institute, the Annai Adhuragam Hospice, at Thimmakudi. These young girls are from remote villages surrounding our hospice.
Sheer humanism and compassion has guided this team over the past four years (since 2018) to make lasting impressions on the lives of over 100 several terminally sick cancer patients at the hospice.
Though very young, this dedicated ‘Blue Brigade’ has shared all of their resources to improve the quality of life of their patients and their caregivers. The In-patients lovingly refer to them as ‘their mother’ and forge lasting relationships with these nurses of the Annai Adhuragam family.
Despite having limited resources they provide counseling support, physiotherapy support, music therapy and sometimes become chefs too!
A few members of this ‘Blue Brigade’ chose to remain at the hospice and offer 24-hour shifts to tide over the staff shortages during the Covid pandemic, when transport facilities were limited.
The genuine and whole hearted blessings from their patients’ will ensure that these young ‘Florence Nightingales’ have a fulfilling and happy future.
The Annai Adhuragam Hospice is very proud to have this ‘Blue Brigade’ to be a part of their team.
