Sanjeevani Cancer Care Foundation organized Awareness Event on World Palliative Care Day.
On the occasion of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on Saturday, 14 October, awareness initiative was organized by Sanjeevani Cancer Care Foundation with the aim of creating awareness on palliative care. In which doctors and cancer experts from different hospitals of the state were present.
In this program, founder of Sanjeevani Cancer Care Foundation Dr. Yousuf Memon, Pain and Palliative Care Specialist Dr. Avinash Tiwari, Hematology and Hemato-Oncology Specialist Dr. Vikas Goyal, Senior Cancer Surgeon Dr. Arpan Chaturmohta, Senior Cancer Surgeon Dr. Diwakar Pandey, Chemotherapy Specialist. Dr Aniket Thoke, Medical Oncologist Dr Rakesh Mishra, Senior Pain Relief Specialist Dr Hiten Mistry were present.
On this occasion, Dr. Avinash Tiwari, Consultant, Department of Pain and Palliative Medicine, Sanjeevani Cancer Hospital, who is the only MD doctor of Palliative Medicine in the state and has previously served in institutions like Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and AIIMS, spoke about palliative care and Shared information about pain and other problems related to cancer, and told that there are misconceptions about palliative care among patients and doctors, due to which patients are not able to reach palliative care specialists regarding problems related to chronic diseases like cancer. If palliative care is chosen along with cancer treatment, the quality of life of such patients
