South Zone: World Hospice & Palliative Care Day Celebration at
Golden Butterflies Children’s Palliative Care Foundation, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Golden Butterflies Children’s Palliative Care Foundation commemorated this year’s World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD) by conducting an online poster competition (following this year’s WHPCD theme) to create awareness about Palliative Care.
Entries were received from students across India, notably colleges like Madras School of Social Work, Patrician College, Madras Medical Mission, Stella Maris College and Delhi University.
10 best entries were shortlisted and these participants were invited to the finale on 9th October 2021 to present their posters and talk about it for 1 minute.
The highly interactive finale had students sharing their learnings about palliative care and their views on creating compassionate communities. An approx. 35 students and GB WINGS (Volunteers) logged in to cheer on the participants. The event was judged by Ms. Rochelle D’Souza Yepthomi, M.A (Applied Psychology), Manager, Psychosocial Programs, YRGCARE.
The dress code for the finale was Hats On and Mask On in support of #HatsOn4CPC.
